Laptop Tips


Login at Work

At the Novell login window, type your network username and password, select the building you work in from the dropdown menu and login.

If you have trouble logging in, wait a few seconds so your wireless can connect to the network and try again.

At the second login, type admin for the username with no password.


Login at Home

At the Novell login window click Computer Only Logon. At the second login, type admin for the username with no password.


ZenWorks Window

The Zenworks window will contain links to commonly used programs when you are logged on at work. At home, it will be blank and can be closed.


Shut Down

Click Start => the right arrow (right of the padlock button) => Shut Down

Connecting to Home WiFi

Click on the icon in the system tray that resembles two computers and click Connect or disconnect (if you at home for the first time, it will only say Connect) On the next window, select your home wireless network and click Connect. If you have security setup on your home wireless, you will be prompted for your password.

Disabling Proxy Settings at Home

Open Firefox In the lower right-corner of Firefox, you will see a green circle with a white P. Click the circle once to disable the proxy settings. Click it again to enable.
